An MBA turned writer, disability inclusion enabler and stand-up comic, Sweta stumbled upon comedy quite accidentally; just like the other things she stumbles upon while walking with her crutches. Presently, she’s having a gala time as she ‘stands up’ to address the understanding of disability and the disability of understanding – one joke at a time!
Sweta has been featured on BBC’s Work Life India with some of India’s most loved stand-up comics and satirists to discuss the happiness quotient of the country and the role of comedy in an ecosystem like ours. Through her maiden concept show, ‘With This Ability’, Sweta has consistently addressed and broken down the psychological barriers around disability through comedy and conversation. In addition to this, Sweta has been simultaneously advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities through articles and features, documentaries, awareness campaigns, and visual arts as well. She has also successfully addressed the subject of love and disability through her work. Her mission is to construct accessibility and initiate inclusion in people’s buildings, minds, and lives.
