You can sign up for Bluesky using this link https://bsky.app/. Bluesky is a social media platform where users can post up to 300 character messages sometimes called skeets. It is similar to old twitter in many ways but is decentralised and not controlled by a capricious billionaire owner.
You can choose which users you want to follow and their posts will appear in a readable stream on your homepage. You can discover news as it is happening and learn more about topics that are important to you.
We have taken the decision to use Bluesky as our main microblogging platform as it allows users to control their own content and the algorithm is not controlled by a petulant billionaire.
Mention: By placing the @ symbol in front of a username, you can tag another user in your post.
Reply: By starting your post with @username, you can reply publicly to a single user.
Hashtag (#): A hashtag is any word or phrase immediately preceded by the # symbol. When you click on a hashtag, you’ll see other Tweets containing the same keyword or topic.
Repost / Reshare: This is a way for someone to share a post from another user’s account.
AXSChat Social Q&A chat is where users from all over the world come together and hold discussions on accessibility and inclusion in business on the web.
We used to host this on Twitter now X but have made the decision to move to Bluesky.
To join in the AXSChat on Bluesky all you need to do is the following:
If you haven’t already, create an account with Bluesky at https://bsky.app/ and follow the @AXSChat account for details.
For the chat you will need to follow the #AXSChat hashtag, as that is where all the questions and answers will appear.
Every week we have 6 different questions for our users to answer, these are posted weekly in advance on the AXSChat Questions Page.
A new question is posted every 10 minutes during the hour so we have Q1 to Q6 through the hour.
To answer the question you will need to tweet your answer prefixed with A (for Answer) and the hashtag: #AXSChat all within 300 characters.
Example:
Q3: Which social networks do you use and if you use more than one do you use them for different things? #AXSChat
A3: Bluesky and Instagram for personal use and LinkedIn for professional use. #AXSChat.
We also recommend that you introduce yourself at the beginning of the chat – people like to say hi.
