Sarah is a freelance media relations consultant and content writer. She has worked as a communicator in the disability sector for 20 years and currently leads Business Disability Forum’s media and press work.
Sarah is passionate about accessible and inclusive communication. She led ‘Every Vote Counts’, an early campaign to improve access to voting for people with learning disabilities and also helped develop the first Easy Read newspaper, ‘Easy News’.
Sarah has authored several resources for Business Disability Forum, including their Inclusive Communication Toolkit. Most recently, she has worked on Business Disability Forum’s ‘Changing the image of disability’ campaign to increase and improve the representation of disabled people in images. Sarah wrote the campaign guidance on how to select, commission and use images around disability.
Lara Davis – Head of Communications and Marketing, Business Disability Forum
Lara Davis joined Business Disability Forum in November 2021 and has over 25 years’ experience in marketing communications in the public, private and not for profit sectors. Previous roles include Head of Communications for national charity Citizens Advice and working for a health and education specialist communications consultancy. Prior to joining Business Disability Forum, Lara worked as a freelance marketing communications specialist in the charity sector, providing her expertise to a wide range of charities. Lara leads our Changing the image of disability campaign.
