I’m Anubha, an Architect & Universal design professional.

A passionate architect and a nature lover, I am a committed Accessibility & UD professional with a positive attitude & a comprehensive approach to problem solving. I have over 5 years of experience in Interiors and Architecture. As an architect, I am working on the sensitivities of Universal design Accessibility and advocating for the Accessible and Inclusive environments for all including person with disabilities through public education.

I was diagnosed with Limb girdle Muscular dystrophy, at the age of 18 years , a progressive condition causing muscle weakness in upper and lower limbs. After 5 years of my diagnosis, my younger brother also got diagnosed with same condition, now it became serious and deepened my commitment. This led to my work in the social sector starting from welfare for rare conditions in India. My life took an exciting turn, meeting Peter Gibson, and his ideas and philosophies ignited a passion to transform India’s accessibility landscape through Universal design as the answer! I grew up in New Delhi, and am deeply connected to the roots of India.

Hi, I am Peter, an Accessibility Knowledge Custodian

Passion is a word overused and often applied flippantly.  So I will be more specific.  Accessibility has become such a big issue in my life that it has become an obsession.  Many years ago my wife started to progress towards paralysis with Multiple Sclerosis and our lives have been turned upside down.  We could no longer easily travel with on our long adventurous road trips and our short excursions with extended family needed to be carefully planned and executed with all sorts of mitigations.  Spontaneity and surprise was thrown out of the window.

I grew up in London in the UK but travelled and live in various places including Scotland, Qatar and now India for the past 17 years.  For 24 years I have been working in the oil industry with robotic submarines.  Now I am an accessibility knowledge  custodian.  I have been creating training material, curating training courses  and facilitating capacity building about accessibility.
