Gail Ramster

Gail Ramster is a Senior Research Associate in inclusive design at the Royal College of Art’s Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design. She applies people-centred approaches to service, information and urban design challenges, and leads the Public Toilets Research Unit, with twenty years of research captured in her co-authored book, Designing Inclusive Public Toilets: Wee the People (2025). Gail is also a director of Public Convenience Ltd, a design and access consultancy that runs The Toilet Map, a website of UK publicly accessible toilets, and she serves on the British Standards Committee for Sanitary Installations (BS6465).
