Rene Perkins

Rene Perkins is an entrepreneur dedicated to using technology for the good of society and the environment.  She arrived in the UK from China in 2000, completing a BSc and Msc in Finance. She has over 12 years’ financial services experience from Ernst & Young and HSBC.

In 2013, Rene established eGen Electric Scooters a sustainable transportation solution within smart cities before founding CityMaaS to ensure inclusive, spontaneous and efficient travel for disabled people.

Rene is driven by two way mentoring so co-founded the Sustainable Finance Toastmasters Group in 2018, a platform which attracts like-minded professionals to gather regularly and practice public speaking and leadership skills. She also has numerous volunteering and mentoring positions across the accessibility and start-up worlds. More recently she volunteers in Diaspora Foundation, an initiative led by #LordWei of Shoreditch from House of Lords, that has a focus to help diaspora groups in the UK. In her tiny share of spare time, she enjoys painting and travel and is a keen foodie with a particular passion for seafood from all over the world, stemming from her coastal home town.  She is also a mum to two young girls who keep her grounded and constantly on her toes!
