BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience with a dissertation on computer-simulated biological neural networks.
With almost 30 years’ commercial experience in computing, programming and software consultancy including AI, Adrian leads the strategy and direction, as well as project management. In addition, he authors much of the code, particularly around AI and enterprise-grade business services.
Adrian also oversees Robotica’s main day-to-day business and sales activities and leads on tasks that require deep AI expertise. He created much of Robotica’s founding technology and drives quality and customer value above all else.
For over two decades before founding Robotica, he was a highly successful independent software consultant, with his own consulting business (Xiasma). Clients included Aviva, Tesco, Dunnhumby, Logica/CGI, Sony, NEC, Npower, Carlsberg, Ferranti and Smart421. He has a track record of developing and leading software products with national and global impact. He designed and delivered (as senior consultant/analyst) the pandemic control and communication solution for the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), which has been key to international medical data sharing and treatment/response articulation for the health of 2.5bn people throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Independently, in 2014 he created Evagene, an AI software product to allow clinical geneticists to draw family trees, with pens, which would subsequently model genetics and predict cancer heritability. Adrian founded, led, and ran Evagene, and contributed to every aspect of the business, including finance, sales, marketing and technology.
As a consultant chief technology officer (CTO), he was a key contributor to the client winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Innovation) at successful growth-stage start-up Epos Now.
Because of his reputation as a personable, highly technical leader, Adrian has been invited on numerous occasions to talk at public conferences, headlining with internationally recognised names including Jon Skeet, Seb Rose and Kevlin Henney.
For much of the past decade, Adrian has managed client teams of software engineers, providing process and programme management and has often been parachuted in to turn around failing projects.
