Rob has spent the past twenty years at Microsoft working to make technology more accessible for people of all ages and abilities. This involved a decade working as an engineer to lay the foundation in Windows and Office by creating technologies like UI Automation, the Magnification API and the Ease of Access Center. Another decade was spent developing the business case and cultural transformation to support company-wide investments in Inclusive Design and Accessibility. During this time, he also worked with colleagues across industries and around the world to launch the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP).  Rob was the industry’s first Chief Accessibility Officer and is currently Microsoft’s Chief Accessibility Architect for Global UX Services.  He continues to serve as President of the IAAP – working to grow a global network of experts trained and certified in the art (and science) of Accessibility.  His other passions include conservation wildlife photography, the preservation of critical wildlife habitat, and the design of net-zero homes that generate more energy than they consume.
